I tested the Ottocast OttoAibox P3 Pro CarPlay AI box in my 2025 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter because I missed the aftermarket Android head unit in my 3rd Gen Tacoma, but I did not want to replace Toyota’s factory 14-inch infotainment screen.

The P3 Pro adds a standalone Android environment to the factory 4th Gen Tacoma screen. YouTube works, Disney+ loads, and it can browse the web directly from the Toyota display. That browser was actually a surprise because my old aftermarket head unit could not do normal web browsing.

It can get online through Wi-Fi, a Nano SIM or Ottocast CloudSIM. It also lets you switch between its Android system, CarPlay and Android Auto, and you can pair your phone directly to the P3 Pro for calls and Bluetooth audio if you want one device handling everything.

One limitation: the HDMI connection is output only, so it does not duplicate the direct HDMI-input setup I had on my old head unit.

If you are using an Ottocast P3 Pro or another CarPlay AI box in a 4th Gen Toyota Tacoma, what features are you actually using the most?
